Black sea Coast - Informations About The Romanian Littoral of the Black Sea

The Romanian Littoral of the Black Sea has 245 km lengthwise, from the north boundary line with Ukraine to the south boundary line with Bulgaria.
Now, from the total length of 245 km only 82 km are exploited in tourism.
Over the centuries, along the sea shore appeared two large and two little cities, and the impressive number of 13 resorts.
The main resorts and touristic attractions on the littoral are found in Constanta district. The other large town on the littoral is Tulcea City.
The largest town on the littoral, seen also as the capital of the area, is Constanta City, a both port and touristic city.
The second city regarding size is Mangalia City, followed by: Navodari City, Sulina City, Eforie and Techirghiol City. The 13 resorts on the littoral are: Mamaia Sat, Mamaia, Eforie Nord, Eforie Sud, Techirghiol, Costinesti, Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Cap Aurora, Venus, Saturn and Mangalia. There also are a few touristic villages like: Vama Veche, 2 Mai, Tuzla and 23 August.
Through out its whole length, the Romanian littoral, has wide beaches with fine sand and the entrance in the water is gentle, the water not being very deep. Most of the beaches are laid out, but there also are virgin beaches that seem to have never been touched by civilization, known mostly by the locals. Here the masters are the seagulls and the sea seems even more beautiful. These virgin beaches are placed in the following areas: Gura Portitei, Grindul Chituc, and Corbu. These areas are very crowded in the weekends, and still there is enough for everyone. The Romanian littoral has the same geographic coordinates as other well known resorts in Europe: San Remo, Monaco, Nice, and Rimini. This characteristic determines kind weather with almost no rain, hot summers and mild winters. The medium temperature from June to August is over 25 degrees Celsius.
The orientation towards the east ensures ten hours a day of sun brightness. The dominant winds blow in N-E direction, and the sea breeze cools the air during the summer. During the winter, the wind amplifies the cold sensation with a few degrees Celsius.
The sea water has a reduced salinity and for not having deep water near the shore, the water easily warms in the summer.
In the months of July and August the sea water temperature is about 25-26 degrees Celsius, an ideal temperature for bathing.
The water, the air, the sun and the sand form together a benefic bio-climate for the human body, thus in this area many resorts that exploit this factors had evolved over the years.
In addition, in certain resorts like: Venus, Saturn, Mangalia, and Eforie Nord the tourists may find thermal springs and therapeutic mud. At the present time the littoral masses together 43% from the whole accommodation capacity of the country.

The Romanian Black Sea Coast
offers the tourists an impressive number of accommodation spaces, totalizing a 250 000 places in hotels, villas and pensions both touristic classified and not classified. In addition, in the last years many hotels have been built, the majority of them being organized in touristic complexes and offering complete services for an excellent vacation. From the old hotels, a large number have been restored and the accommodation conditions have been evidently improved. In the present, the Romania Littoral offers accommodation in hotels, villas or pensions classified at two, three, four or five stars. The four and five stars hotels are numerous mostly in Mamaia Resort, but there also are few four and five stars hotels in the other resorts.
Mamaia Resort is the one resort on the littoral with a limited number of villas and pensions, these ones being found mainly in the following resorts: Costinesti, Eforie Nord, Eforie Sud, Techirghiol, and Mamaia Sat.
Besides the hotels, in the resorts the tourists may also find restaurants and terraces, many with Romanian specific cuisine. For entertainment the tourists also have many options. For example, sport fields (football, tennis), bowling, Luna parks, clubs, discos etc. Also aquatic sports can be practiced. There are diving, windsurfing, and yachting clubs.
On the lakes the fishing passionate can enjoy this sport. If we take them separately, every resort has its specific things to offer. Mamaia Resort, for example, which at the present time is the pearl of the Romanian littoral has improved over the years its services regarding accommodation and meals, but also, the resort has extended the touristic offer by: opening a very appreciated aquatic park named Aqua Magic, by building The Cable Railway, by the opening of various clubs like: XXI, Bamboo, and LaMania Club, and by organizing different spectacular events like Formula 1 on water, The Challenger Tennis Tournament, or Aero GP. Eforie Nord Resort offers the possibility to have specific treatments in the Health Centers: Efosan, or Ana Aslan Helth SPA, but also has a private port for luxury vessels. Ana Yacht Club offers sea sails and every year is organized here The Black Sea Regatta. Neptun Resort with its wide forests and green spaces offers the tourists a treatment complex, and also one of the most known clubs on the littoral Why Not Club. Saturn Resort has an aquatic park at Balada Hotel, and Mangalia Resort offers touristic attractions like: a herd of horses and a racecourse known through out the country, The Callatis Fortress ruins, and the organizing of various festivals ( Callatis Festival, The Young Actor Gala etc). A privileged place between the touristic areas of the littoral is occupied by Constanta City, a full of life city that not only offers its tourist the sea and the beach but also the possibility of going shopping and visiting museums.
Constanta City is the second important town in the country, a port city which can be visited in every season and a city you could easily fall in love with. Clearly, there are many issues that need to be attended regarding the tourism on the Romanian littoral, but sincerely speaking important developments have been made over the last years. Important developments like the building of new hotels, the improved services and new entertainment attractions. This thing had left its print on the rising number of tourists that spent their vacation on the Black Sea coast.
